A while back, Kat told me about her plans to cosplay at AWA 7 as a group from Vision of Escaflowne. And she wanted me to be her Folken. I've never cosplayed before (or even seen Escaflowne,) but I thought it would be fun, so I agreed. Michelle made the costume, and it absolutely kicked ass. In fact, our group won the award in the cosplay competition for Best Group Costumes. We also won an award with the registration desk for Most Original Group Name (Happy Soy Sauce People.... I don't know either. Ask Kat.) Anyways, here are some pics of our group and of some of the other cosplayers at the event.

At the end of every year the Theatre department holds a banquet for all its students. It's always a lot of fun. There are awards, a year-end video, speeches, and plenty of good food. I presented the award for Best Dance Number with Travis and Michael. Rather than do something related to that, we just took turns making fun of all the things that had gone wrong over the course of the year.

Macbeth... My final play at Parkview High School. Not only was it my last play, but it was also my favorite by far, and the only major role I had. I played Malcolm, the Prince of Cumberland and heir to the throne of Scotland. For those unfamiliar with the play, Malcolm's father (King Duncan) is assassinated by Macbeth, and Malcolm flees to England to avoid the same fate. After Macbeth becomes King, Malcolm and Macduff lead an army into Scotland to retake the throne.

February was my favorite time of year in high school for one simple reason: One Acts! This time around, I decided to put on a play written by, directed by, and starring myself (in a minor role.) In the words of Travis, the emcee for the night, I'm a regular prodigy (although the sarcasm doesn't really translate to text.) My play, "The Mummy Takes Miami", was a comedy in the essence of such brilliant films as Weekend at Bernie's and Son in Law, and was reminiscent of Bill Shakespeare himself. That is, if Shakespeare had been on opium when he was writing. In the play, two grave robbers, Hanz and Franz, bring a mummy back to life, who then hops on a plane to Miami. It's up to Calvin and Hobbes, a pair of bumbling FBI agents, to recapture the mummy before Hanz and Franz can get to it and make it lead them to its treasure.

"Once Upon a Mattress" was my second and final performance in a musical at Parkview. I played a dancing knight. Although the process was hell, it was fun working with everyone, and I'm definitely going to miss them now that it's over.

My first rave in what seemed like forever (and the first time I thought to take pictures.) Outer Limits was held at the Trade Center, so we just had to work for a while (directing traffic) and then we could go inside and party.

Fun times at Prom. I went with Paula, and our group consisted of my friends from drama. The only one Paula had met before was Nate (and she was a little bit afraid of Zach.) We went to a really good Italian restaurant in Buckhead for dinner, and after that it was off to the dance.
